Free pay stubs are not stored
When you generate a free pay stub, the details you enter are used to render the PDF and returned to your browser. They are not written to our database and are not retained after the request completes. That covers everything you type: employer, employee name, address, wages, and the last four SSN digits.
How the free daily limit is counted
The free tier allows a set number of pay stubs every 24 hours. To count that without accounts, we record two things each time a free PDF is issued, and nothing else: a random identifier stored in a cookie on your device, and a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. The hash cannot be reversed back to your IP, and neither value is linked to anything you typed or to any pay stub. Both are deleted automatically 48 hours after they are written, and neither is shared with anyone.
Paid orders are stored
If you buy a premium design or a multi-period bundle, we store the pay stub details with your order. We need them to rebuild your PDF after payment, email your copy, and resend it if you ask. We never ask for or store a full Social Security number — only the last four digits, which appear masked on the document.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.
Analytics
We record which steps of the generator are used — page views, previews, downloads, checkouts — tied to a random session identifier held in your browser's session storage. These records contain no names, addresses, SSN digits, or wage figures, and the identifier disappears when you close the tab.
